All of our kimono are imported from Japan and are hand-sewn unless stated otherwise, as they have been for centuries. The kimono on the site date from the 1940's to current times. The shorter ones (haori) are worn over the longer kimono but they work beautifully as casually elegant jackets. If you've never thought of wearing one before, have a look at our Gallery to see how they look.
Many of my customers come back again and again to buy another haori for a different outfit because they are so comfortable and easy to wear. Many of them have embroidered, handpainted or tie-dyed detail. The longer kimono make wonderful dressing-gowns or dramatic evening coats. The shorter jacket-type kimono are very flexible for wearing with jeans or for elegance in the evening, depending on the pattern.
